Based on more than fifty unpublished biographies, the present volume Missionaries of Portuguese India (Goa) in Timor-Leste intends to make known the meritorious and praiseworthy work of these children of “Roma do Oriente” who, with their missionary activity on the island “ where sandalwood comes from ”contributed, with devotion and affection, to the evangelization of the Timorese people. Among the various priests from Goa, such as Dominican friars, secular or diocesan priests, the same fervor and faith is recognized: that of becoming messengers of the Good News in Timor-Leste.
