Research IDEAS - Identifying Higher Education Equity Interventions that Work (2013-2015)
In this project the task was to collect examples of equity interventions from around the world and research if they work, how they work and why they work.
It has defined an equity intervention as a specific programme, project or activity, which was designed to improve access to, participation in or completion of Higher Education for students from under represented groups, and which showed measurable effects. The team was specifically looking for interventions which were implemented at micro- and meso- levels, i.e. by individual institutions, departments, NGO or individuals.
These institutions contribution have been added to the project database and had been analysed to create key themes for successful initiatives. Some of the examples had been developed into full case studies of best practice which had been disseminated across Europe.
This as a Lifelong Learning Programme project.
Project's Partnership: ESU - European Students' Union, Knowledge Innovation Centre, The Tavistock Institute, EURASHE- European Association of Institutions of Higher Edcation, and Catholic University of Portugal.
